The objective of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of the current Fair Housing Act as well as some of the history of Civil Rights in the United States.

  • Summary of Prohibited Activity Under The Federal Fair Housing Act.

  • Discrimination in the Provision of Brokerage Services.

  • Blockbusting.

    Session 3 -

  • The 1988 Amendment to The Fair Housing Act.

  • The Fair Housing Act Contains Several Important Exemptions and Limitations.

  • Exemption for Housing for Older Persons.

  • General Prohibitions Against Discrimination Because of Handicap.

    Session 4 -

  • Reasonable Occupancy Standards Under the Fair Housing Act.

  • Hud Adopts the "Keating Memo" as the Standard for Reasonable Occupancy Limits.

  • When Can an Owner Discriminate Based Upon Health or Safety Concerns?

    Session 5 -

  • Advertising and Fair Housing.

    In order to pass this class and receive your Educational Certificate, the student must complete all sessions by reading the material online and completing the quizzes at the end of each session.  After all sessions have been completed, the student can then proceed to take their Final Exam, which consists of 50 questions taken from the completed sessions.

    You must pass the Final Exam with a score of 80%, which will indicate that you have read and completed your assignments.  You can retake the final until you pass.

    Once you pass your Final Exam, you can then click on the Certificate Link and receive your Educational Certificate for 3 hours of credit in Fair Housing Issues, IMMEDIATELY.
